Gert Leroy

Freediving instructor. Former national record holder. 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube. I train calm first, numbers second.

Why calm comes first

I've taught a lot of people to hold their breath. The pattern almost never changes: someone arrives wanting a bigger number, trains hard, fights every contraction, and stalls. Then they learn to relax into the discomfort instead of bracing against it, and the number moves on its own.

Freediving isn't about chasing numbers. It's a tool for self-discovery. Holding your breath teaches you to become comfortable with the uncomfortable, and that translates directly into life. CO₂ tolerance is a physical skill and a metaphor at the same time.

I built the Underwater Squad because YouTube can explain an exercise but it can't give you a progression, a group training on the same week, or someone to ask when your holds go backwards for ten days. That part needs a community.

What I teach

If you want the shape of the training before you join, start with the five stages of a breath-hold, or read how CO₂ tolerance and the tables work. If you'd rather just start, the trial is free for seven days.

Start your first breath-hold week

Join the Squad and follow the 6-week Breather Challenge from day one. Fifteen minutes a day, dry, at home. Seven-day free trial.
